Thank you for choosing to be part of our community at Simple Paper, doing business as Simple Paper (“Simple Paper”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). We are committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy. If you have questions or concerns about this policy or how we handle your data, please contact us.

When you visit https://simplepaper.co or use our services, you trust us with your information. This notice explains what we collect, how we use it, and the rights you have. If you do not agree with this policy, please discontinue use of our Sites and services.

This policy applies to information collected through our website and any related services, sales, marketing, or events (collectively, the “Sites”).

1) What information do we collect?

Information you provide to us

We collect personal information you provide directly, such as name, email address, shipping/billing address, phone number, account credentials, order details, and the content of messages you send us.

Payment data

Your payment is processed by our payment partners. We receive limited details (e.g., card brand and last four digits) and rely on the processor’s secure handling of your full payment information.

Information collected automatically

When you visit our Sites, we automatically collect device and usage information (e.g., IP address, browser type, operating system, referring pages, pages viewed, timestamps). We use this to operate, secure, and improve the Sites.

Information from other sources

We may receive limited data from advertising platforms and analytics providers to help us understand site usage and campaign performance.

2) How do we use your information?

  • To provide and improve our services (process orders, shipping, returns, support).
  • To personalize your experience (remember preferences; improve page layout and content).
  • To perform privacy-respecting analytics and A/B tests using PostHog to learn what helps customers most and to improve product pages and overall experience.
  • To communicate with you (order updates, service messages, and—if you opt in—marketing emails).
  • To keep the Sites secure (fraud prevention, troubleshooting, auditing).
  • To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms and policies.

3) Will your information be shared with anyone?

We share data with service providers who help us run the business (e.g., payments, shipping, analytics, email). These partners may only use your data to perform services for us and must protect it. We may also share information to comply with law, protect rights and safety, or as part of a business transaction (e.g., merger or acquisition).

4) Who will your information be shared with?

Invoice & Billing

PayPal, Stripe

Web Analytics & Experience

Google Analytics and PostHog (replacing Hotjar; we no longer use Hotjar). PostHog helps us understand how the site is used and powers privacy-respecting A/B tests and feature flags. We configure PostHog to collect only what we need for functionality and improvement.

Customer Communications

Email/SMS platforms (for order notifications and, if opted in, marketing). We keep message content minimal and secure.

5) Do we use cookies and other tracking technologies?

Yes. We use cookies and similar technologies (like pixels) to operate the site, remember preferences, and perform analytics. You can control cookies in your browser settings. Where required, we’ll request consent for non-essential cookies. See our Cookie settings or banner for options.

6) How long do we keep your information?

We retain personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described here or as required by law (e.g., tax and accounting). When no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it. If deletion is not possible (e.g., backups), we securely store and isolate it until deletion is feasible.

7) How do we keep your information safe?

We use organizational and technical measures designed to protect your information (secure connections, limited access, encryption at partners where applicable). No method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, but we work to safeguard your data and review our controls regularly.

8) Do we collect information from minors?

We do not knowingly collect data from or market to children under 18. If we learn that we have collected data from a child under 18, we will delete it. If you believe this has occurred, please contact us.

9) What are your privacy rights?

  • Access, update, or delete certain account information via your account settings or by contacting us.
  • Opt out of marketing emails at any time (unsubscribe link in messages). We may still send service emails (e.g., order updates).
  • Manage cookies in your browser or via our cookie banner/settings.
  • EEA/UK residents may have additional rights under local laws; you can contact your data protection authority for guidance.

10) Controls for Do-Not-Track features

Most browsers and some mobile systems include a Do-Not-Track (DNT) setting. No uniform standard exists for responding to DNT signals, so we do not currently respond to them. If a standard is adopted, we will update this policy.

11) Do California residents have specific privacy rights?

California residents may request information about categories of personal information we disclosed for direct marketing in the prior year (California “Shine the Light” law). To make a request, please write to us using our contact form. If you are under 18, reside in California, and have a registered account with us, you may request removal of content you posted on the Sites; note that removal may not be complete from all systems (e.g., backups).

12) Do we make updates to this policy?

Yes. We may update this policy to stay compliant with laws or to reflect changes to our practices (for example, Hotjar removed and replaced with PostHog). The “Last updated” date at the top shows the current version. We may notify you about material changes.

13) How can you contact us about this policy?

Please reach us via our contact form. We’re happy to help.
